Mr Ayoub explained the whole process and subsequent outcome very thoroughly and answered any questions and concerns in detail. The surgery was on both eyes and the treatment was painless and took little time. All in all I felt I was in good hands all through the consultations and surgery and am very happy with the outcome. Easy going

Mr. Horgan is never in a hurry. You are treated as a person and not an anonymous patient. He is exceptionally kind and personable and he quickly found a solution for my cataract surgery, for which the NHS had rejected me due to postural issues. From my first meeting, all my concerns were waylaid by his careful explanation of what to expect. I simply had no questions to ask him at any stage, as he’s worked for decades on cataracts and he and his team have also fine tuned the post operative procedures. It was a joy to be able to shower, bend over, resume life normally within 24-48 hours of having the procedure. Now, three weeks after the last operation I can see perfectly. In addition I have the Premium lenses which are not available on the NHS, but which mean I no longer need reading or distance glasses. I was not insured, but the overall price was manageable, given the offsetting of the costs of many pairs of new glasses. Mr Horgan calls you two days after your surgery. Then you have a follow up appointment three weeks later. The team at the Battersea Eye clinic are very professional and you are immediately given tea and sandwiches as soon as you’re ready for them after the procedure. In a strange way I shall miss being so cosseted! Full marks to everyone and I highly recommend the team.

Mr Mitry was absolutely superb . He was kind, patient, took time with me. He performed the two cataract surgeries I needed and was very calm and reassuring. His follow up appointments were very welcome and I felt I was in very safe hands.

Mr Navanaty, I thank you for the copy of a letter I received last week, a letter you wrote on my behalf. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for the relief you have given me for the painful condition I have suffered from for so many years.

I have been under Mr Kersey’s clinic for a number of years now at FPH. On learning of his decision to leave the trust, I decided to go privately to have my other cataract treated as I have on going complex eye conditions. Mr Kersey had already completed this very successful procedure on the other eye in August at FPH. He restored my trust, faith and confidence with his wonderful, easy going bedside manner, advising what I needed to know in a straightforward manner, easing all my anxieties after very traumatic eye surgery at St Thomas’s Hospital some years ago. He is the only consultant in nearly 30 years to undertake this procedure and never once led me to believe he had any concerns or doubts like other consultants. He truly is an expert in his field and I get very emotional still as I type this, amazed that he has given me back a life with sight, something I’ve not had properly since my first detachment 30 years ago when I was a young women in my 20’s. Raising two children, driving, working, etc, etc has been very challenging, if not impossible at times and I will never be able to thank him enough. He will be greatly missed at FPH, but, I know, I have the option to see him anytime in the future and would not hesitate to recommend him. In fact I already have.
