About

Ms Louise Seys is dual-qualified as an Occupational Therapist and Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist. She has over 15 years of experience in the NHS with people experiencing a range of emotional difficulties including psychosis, eating disorders, anxiety disorders, and depression.

Louise began her professional career in Occupational Therapy, gaining her degree from the University of Derby, before undertaking a Postgraduate Diploma in CBT under the tutelage of Dr Richard Bennett at The University of Birmingham.

Since qualifying as a psychotherapist, Louise has developed further expertise in the most recent developments within CBT, including Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Her knowledge and expertise of these therapies influences her psychotherapy practice.

On account of Louise's expertise and many years of experience, she has been given the role of Honorary Tutor at the Psychology Department at the University of Birmingham, where she contributes to the training of the next generation of psychotherapists, through the provision of teaching and supervision.

Louise is someone I trained at the University of Birmingham when she undertook her Postgraduate Diploma in CBT. My privileged position as the course lead means that I can spot the really talented students, and Louise stood out straight away. Aside from her technical ability as a therapist, specialising in CBT, MBCT, and ACT, Louise has always impressed me with her warm, genuine, and compassionate approach to her work. It's great to have her as part of the team.
