Orthopaedic Surgery

Mr Amit Amin is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in Foot and Ankle Surgery. Mr Amin's private practice focuses on his sub-specialist interest of foot and ankle surgery. He is one of only a select number of surgeons to have received formal training in ankle replacement surgery and is specially trained to perform this complex procedure. He is a regular contributor to medical journals in his areas of expertise.

Mr Amin completed his medical training at a number of renowned teaching hospitals including the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, and Bart’s and the London. Mr Amin also spent a considerable amount of time training at centres of excellence in Seattle, Baltimore and Toronto.

Mr Amin received his medical degree in 1999 from the University of Manchester. Mr Amin then spent time in research as a fellow at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore. After this, Mr Amin took up a position as a trauma fellowship at the Royal London Hospital.

Mr Amin completed his advanced surgical training in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery within the prestigious Percival Pott training program. Throughout his specialist training, Mr Amin continued to pursue courses and teaching tailored to his preferred sub-specialty of foot and ankle surgery. Importantly, for one year of his specialist training, he worked at the foot and ankle unit at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.

Mr Amin received his Fellowship in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery (FRCS (Orth)) in 2011. Shortly after receiving his Fellowship, Mr Amin joined St George’s Hospital as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in Foot and Ankle Surgery.

I can't thank Mr Amin enough for his expert care and excellent communication following my Achilles rupture injury. He showed true professionalism and was very accommodating and quick to respond to every issue or query I had before, during and after my surgery.

I found Mr Amin to be kind, considerate and efficient, so I always felt in capable hands throughout my treatment. Would definitely recommend.

I am sending this message to thank you for difference you have made to my right ankle. Before the operation I was struggling to walk properly but within one and half weeks of surgery I was able to play golf and I have noticed significant signs of improvement since. I'm even dreaming of kicking a football again...Thank you so much for your expertise and the after-care provided.
