Dr Adam Humphries, Consultant Gastroenterologist and Endoscopist, works within St Mark's Hospital in Harrow, London. He is highly specialised in endoscopy (including video capsule and trans-nasal), bowel cancer screening and prevention, colonoscopy and polypectomy, gastroscopy, small bowel diseases, inflammatory bowel disease, and double-balloon enteroscopy.

Dr Humphries graduated from Imperial College Medical School in 2002, before undertaking his specialist training in gastroenterology in hospitals throughout London from 2005-2013. He was later awarded a fellowship at St Mark's hospital focusing on advanced and small bowel endoscopy. He underwent additional fellowships including the Cancer Research UK Clinical Research Fellowship that was awarded to him in 2007. He was later given a PhD for his work during this fellowship by University College London. Since being appointed to his current position he has also become the Clinical Lead for Endoscopy in his NHS Trust and has established a small bowel endoscopy service, one of the few services in the UK to provide double-balloon enteroscopy for the diagnosis and treatment of small bowel diseases.

Dr Humphries remains an active researcher, publishing regularly in high-impact medical journals, presenting his findings at international conferences, and publishing several book chapters. He currently researches bowel cancer prevention, the evolution of pre-cancerous growths (polyps) within the gut, and the diagnosis and treatment of small bowel diseases.
