Dr Tari is a Consultant Psychiatrist working in both the NHS and the private sector. He qualified as a doctor in 1997, initially working as a General Practitioner (GP) and then in various specialities for a number of years before specialising in psychiatry, which provided him with an in-depth understanding of the impact of physical health on a person’s mental health and vice versa.
He completed his post-graduate psychiatric training at Central and Northwest London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) and from 2015 to 2018, he was appointed as a substantive Consultant Psychiatrist at Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust. Dr Tari was a clinical lead for an in-patient team delivering complex psychiatric and psychological care to acutely unwell patients who suffer from severe mental disorders.
Dr Tari works for East London NHS Foundation Trust as a clinical lead for a community mental health team . He is also the Associate Clinical Director and lead consultant for local community mental health teams working to deliver complex psychiatric and psychological care to patients with a wide range of psychiatric conditions ranging from depression and anxiety disorders to psychotic, bipolar and personality disorders.
He also has a keen interest in teaching, frequently teaching medical students, Foundation Doctors and Psychiatry Trainees in his NHS Trust.
He is clinical supervisor to higher and core trainees .
