Dr Tari is a Consultant Psychiatrist working in both the NHS and the private sector. He qualified as a doctor in 1997, initially working as a General Practitioner (GP) and then in various specialities for a number of years before specialising in psychiatry, therefore has in-depth understanding of the impact of physical health conditions on a person’s mental health and vice versa.
He completed his post-graduate psychiatric training at Central and Northwest London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) and from 2015 to 2018, he was appointed as a substantive Consultant Psychiatrist at Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust. Dr Hashemi Tari was a clinical lead for an in-patient team which delivers complex psychiatric and psychological care to acutely unwell patients who suffer from severe mental disorders.
He now works for East London NHS Foundation Trust as a clinical lead for a community mental health team and Associate Clinical Director and lead consultant for local community mental health teams which deliver complex psychiatric and psychological care to patients with wide range of psychiatric conditions from depression and anxiety disorders to psychotic, bipolar and personality disorders.
He also has a keen interest in teaching and he takes part in teaching medical students, Foundation Doctors and Psychiatry Trainees in his NHS Trust.
