Dr Amit Allahabadia is a Consultant Endocrinologist with clinics based in Sheffield and London. Since graduating from the University of Glasgow in 1991 he has gone on to be awarded a postgraduate MD for his investigations into the clinical and genetic factors underpinning autoimmune thyroid disease. With substantial clinical experience managing a variety of endocrine diseases, he has a specialist interest in thyroid disorders as a Consultant Endocrinologist within a large tertiary endocrine centre at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
He leads the provision of thyroid follow up services and radioiodine treatment for benign thyroid disorders and sees referrals from a wide area including patients with thyroid nodules, hyperthyroidism, goitre, subclinical thyroid disease and difficult hypothyroidism. Dr Allahabadia has built an impressive reputation as a clinician, including a 4-year tenure as secretary for The British Thyroid Association, and continues to actively research and publish journals in the field of thyroid research.
