Dr Ash Husain graduated medicine over 30 years ago and has been working as a Consultant Respiratory Physician in the UK since 1997. He completed his speciality training in Respiratory Medicine in hospitals in East London and Essex. In 2004, Ash relocated from Maidstone Hospital in Kent to the Hertfordshire/North London area.
His specialist interests cover chronic cough, breathing problems and all the aspects of general respiratory medicine. These include conditions like asthma, lung infections, bronchiectasis, pneumonia, tuberculosis, COPD, breathing disorders during sleep, interstitial lung diseases (lung fibrosis, sarcoidosis), lung cancer, pulmonary embolism, respiratory failure, pleural disease. He also offers testing procedures such as spirometry, six-minute walk test, oxygen assessment, chest aspirations/intubation and fibreoptic bronchoscopies.
Ash is actively involved in teaching and has been working with Primary Care Trusts to develop care pathways for most chronic lung diseases, particularly COPD and chronic cough.
He is married with 3 children and in his spare time, Ash enjoys playing cricket, squash and listening to classical music. He is also a keen traveller.
