Dr Basil Almahdi is a Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia specialist located in London. His interests consist of post-operative pain, recurring pain syndromes, and palliative treatments for cancer pain and neuropathic pain. He is also interested in keyhole (non-invasive) treatments for issues caused by degenerative spinal diseases. Some examples are disc herniation, spinal stenosis, and radiculopathies.
Almahdi graduated in 1997 and moved onto becoming a Fellow at University College Hospital, training in Pain Management at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. Post-fellowship, he went on to Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and The Pain Management Centre at University College Hospital where he was a Locum Consultant. There he expanded his education and expertise in managing complicated spinal pain problems.
Dr Basil Almahdi is a frequent teacher both nationally and internationally in the Pain and Anaesthesia field. He also speaks both English and Arabic. He makes a clear effort to empower his patients and fulfills patient needs when it comes to pain management.
