After Dr Catherine Rodgers graduated from Liverpool University Medical School in 1989 she trained in the Mersey regional rotation. During her training, Dr Cathering Rodgers gained her MRCP and was admitted to the Royal College of Physicians of London.
Remaining in the Liverpool Deanery, Dr Rodgers was appointed as a registrar in Genito-urinary Medicine (GUM). She commenced her specialist training in Sexual Health and HIV, obtaining a Diploma in Venereology (Liverpool) in 1993.
In 1994, Dr Rodgers was appointed Senior Registrar in GUM and HIV at St Mary’s Hospital, London. Here, Catherine consolidated her specialist training in Sexual Health as well as completing her training in Psychosexual Medicine at the London Institute of Psychosexual Medicine.
In 1997, Dr Rodgers was appointed as Consultant Physician in GUM and HIV Medicine, and continues to practice within the NHS. She began her private practice at London Bridge Hospital in 2000 and since then has been invited to join the team of eminent Urological Surgeons at London Bridge Urology in 2006. Dr Rodgers was appointed as a Fellow to the Royal College of Physicians in 2004.
Dr Rodgers’ wide breadth of training enables her to manage the whole spectrum of sexual health from straightforward sexual health screening to the management of complex, chronic conditions that affect individual’s sexual well-being.
Dr Rodgers is keen in research and education. She is regularly invited to educate GPs on the wide range of topics in sexual health as well as carrying out research in the clinical management of chronic, recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis.
