About

Dr Daniel Forton is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist, with two decades of experience specialising in gastrointestinal and liver disease, including medical and therapeutic endoscopic surgery, liver function tests, alcohol-related liver disease, cirrhosis, Fibroscan,and viral hepatitis and gastrointestinal cancer. Daniel is based at the St George's University Hospital and Medical School and the Spire St. Anthony Hospital, and always treats his patients with empathy when interpreting their symptoms for the most effective treatment plans.

Daniel qualified as a doctor at University College London in 1993, and followed up this initial qualification with his specialist training in London, based at teaching hospitals that took part in clinical trials and scientific research regarding hepatitis. He then went on to gain his PhD at Imperial College London, after which, he took up his Consultant post at St. Georges University Hospital NHS Foundation Trusts, in 2005, during which he gained in depth experience in the managment, disagnosis and treatment of complex gastroenterological conditions. In addittion to these qualifications and practices, Dan is the Associate Medical Director for Research at St Georges Hospital, and was awarded for his liver disease research and also has published various peer reviewed papers.
