Saw Dr O'Reilly who is charming and thorough. He made me confident in his diagnosis and promptly answered a number of my follow-up questions by email.

Delighted to have a pro-active plan to alleviate my symptoms. It was important to me not to have to wait a long time for a Rheumatology appointment and throughout the consultation process I felt part of the decision-making. I was treated with kindness and respect.

Following my initial consultation with Dr O'Reilly, I returned to have some injections in my two trigger thumbs. Once again, he explained the procedure carefully and calmly and explained the risks. The injections were carried out quickly, easily and as painlessly as they could have been, which could only be down to his knowledge and experience. Once again, his notes were dictated, so I could hear them. I also received a copy of the letter sent to my surgery, which was e-mailed only a few days after the appointment. Dr O'Reilly also included his mobile number and e-mail address, should I have any concerns, which was a very nice gesture and one I have never seen with any other consultant.

This was my first consultation with this specialist, for this particular medical issue. I had never met him before and found him to have a very pleasant and friendly manner. He quickly diagnosed my problem and explained the issue to me in an easy, non-technical manner. He explained the various ways to rectify the issue, and told me the side effects/risks with each option. The consultation did not feel rushed, and I was treated as a person on a one to one basis, rather than a patient/number and a one sided conversation. I was particularly happy that he took the time to ask if I had any other questions. The consultant dictated his notes, which allowed me to hear his comments/notes, and correct anything before it was sent to my Doctor. I was also copied in to the letter that was sent to the surgery, which was e-mailed very quickly after the appointment. All in all a very positive experience.

David was very thorough in his initial examination, doing simple but telling physical tests that no one else has ever done - on my legs. He was quick to see me (when I was in great pain) and arranged an MRI at very short notice. He was very clear in his description and explanation of what he thought the details of the problem were (prolapsed disc). He followed up with frequent phone calls, and arranged an appointment with a pain specialist as rapidly as possible over the Xmas period.

I have been to see Dr. O'Reilly 3 times now. I have osteoporosis of the spine, and was in a lot of pain. My GP wouldn't allow me to have an MRI, which I felt I urgently needed. I was very upset when I arrived at Dr. O'Reilly's clinic, because I didn't know what was the matter with me. He was very kind (which I really needed). I thought that perhaps I was being a hypochondriac, and the pain was in my mind. He told me it wasn't mental, and that he thought that I had multiple fractures of the spine. He arranged for an MRI, which confirmed his diagnosis. I was scared to take the medication for the osteoporosis which can have nasty side effects. He put my mind at rest. I know that I have someone that I can contact who will offer support through this difficult and frightening time.
