About

Deniah Pachai is a qualified GP, Medical Acupuncturist and Lu Jong Yoga teacher. She has been registered with the General Medical Council for nearly 17 years. Her aim is to achieve better health and wellbeing for people by combining Western Medical knowledge with a broader range of treatment options than the West has to offer.

In her work as a private and NHS GP in London, she finds herself confronted on a daily basis with the discomfort and distress that illness and stress cause, as well as the dissatisfaction when conventional treatments available don't have the desired effect. Having personally experienced the benefits of acupuncture and regular yoga she offers clients an alternative to the illness pathway with Acupuncture and Moving Mindfulness Meditation practices. She teaches Lu Jong and Tog Chöd which are ancient eastern physical practices rooted in Tibetan Medicine and Tibetan Buddhism. . When conventional treatments and medication do not treat chronic pain, allergic, inflammatory and hormonal conditions adequately, she wants to be able to offer patients an alternative, in the form of Western Medical Acupuncture that uses our understanding of how the nervous system responds to the presence of a needle in order to bring relief of pain and other conditions.

She encourages exercise  and offers a moving, mindfulness routine that can be done in just 10 minutes a day in the comfort of your own home, garden, office or hotel room when travelling, and can easily fit into a busy lifestyle. She therefore practices and teaches Lu Jong and trains new Lu Jong teachers.

Special Interests

  • Health and Wellness - My interest is in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention. I trained as a GP and work on the NHS in Urgent Care in West London, and in the private sector in Health Screening for Nuffield Health. Medical acupuncture enables me to provide patients with an alternative to conventional medical treatment that I cannot provide in my other roles. Yoga empowers people and helps them improve balance and flexibility of the body while calming the mind and balancing emotions.
  • Corporate Yoga - Lu Jong Yoga offers a unique 10 minute sequence of movement, breathing and mindfulness that can easily be done in an office setting and fit into a work day. Further movements can be added on as chair yoga with a focus on the neck, shoulders and back, which are common areas for pain and stiffness with long periods of sitting down. The mindfulness element addresses stress, negative emotions and gender profiles that commonly cause disharmony in teams. This helps to promote awareness, understanding, kindness, generosity and compassion in the work environment allowing teams the freedom to enjoy their work and be more productive, healthier and happier.
  • Family Yoga - Couples and Families can learn Lu Jong in a workshop or private class and do the practice at home or in the garden, the park or on the beach when on holiday. It helps to increase bonds between family members while improving strength, flexibility and balance of the body. It will increase awareness of miserliness, jealousy, unhealthy attachments and anger and how destructive these can be in relationships, and how to transform them in an instant. It has great appeal for children and the inner child in all of us, with names of movements like 'Tibetan goose drinking water' and 'Wild Yak rubbing its shoulder'

I’m writing this review on behalf of my mother who has seen Dr Pachai for the past few months. My mum has had rheumatoid arthritis in her joints for 40 years and she can finally enjoy some pain free time. Seeing Dr Pachai reduces her pain, makes her feel more relaxed and always gives her a boost so she can be more active again. My mum loves Dr Pachai and what she has done for her using acupuncture. Dr Pachai is very friendly, patient, takes time to explain things to both my mum and me while I accompany her. She really knows how to help and is fantastic at her job. Thank you Dr Pachai.

Dr Pachai was very helpful and considerate in arranging my treatment. Some long standing issues were addressed, and she regularly sought my feedback in order to tailor the sessions to my needs. Her approach was friendly and professional and I would unhesitatingly recommend her to prospective patients.

Dr Deniah Pachai did acupuncture for my mum’s knee pain and arthritis and also for my husband’s tennis elbow. The acupuncture has helped them both in reducing the pain and helping with movement. Dr Pachai is truly professional, explained the procedure well and took utmost care while doing it to make them feel comfortable as they had never had it done before I would truly recommend her to all
