Mr Khaira qualified from Cambridge and Oxford Universities in 1988. He has been a Consultant Surgeon since 1999, with a specialist interest in vascular surgery.
Mr Khaira has extensive experience in all areas of arterial and venous surgery and has a wealth of knowledge in other types of general surgery such as hernias, gallstones and vasectomy. He is actively involved in training and examining medical students and trainee surgeons. He examines surgical trainees for the Royal Colleges.
He has an interest in a minimally invasive, ambulatory approach to varicose veins treatment using radiofrequency ablation (VNUS Closure). Over the last 7 years he has carried out over 2000 laparoscopic hernia repairs and is involved in teaching registrars and other consultants.
