Dr Helen Spoudeas is a paediatric endocrinologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital and The London Diabetes Centre.
Initially, she qualified at Barts and the London Hospital in 1981 before later obtaining her MRCP four years later. She has dual certification (CCST) in paediatrics and paediatric endocrinology since 1996, and pioneered the first UK ‘niche’ service for the neuroendocrine surveillance and neurorehabilitation of survivors of childhood brain and other tumours established in 1999.
Not only has Dr Spoudeas published original research and review articles on the topics of hormone secretion, growth, pubertal and fertility status after cancer therapies, and is the only endocrine member of the children’s cancer and leukaemia group in the UK, she is also an internationally recognised speaker in her field and an active and certified academic supervisor.
