About

Dr Bountouni is a Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist working in the Complex Depression Anxiety and Trauma Team (CDAT) at Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust, a team that provides care to patients presenting with a wide range of psychiatric conditions from depression and anxiety disorders to psychosis, bipolar and personality disorders.

Dr Bountouni completed her post-graduate training at South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) which is the only mental health trust in the UK to have its own biomedical research centre (BRC) and is part of one of England’s six Academic Health Sciences Centres, King’s Health Partners.

Dr Bountouni trained for one year at the National Affective Disorders Service (SLaM), one of six national affective  disorder units in the UK, and is equipped with specialist clinical skills to manage patients with refractory depression and bipolar affective disorder.

Her 6 -month placement in the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit at the Maudsley Hospital broadened her knowledge  in treating complex psychosis/schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorders and mania.

Dr Bountouni trained in adult ADHD and ran an outpatient specialist diagnostic adult ADHD clinic at Lewisham University Hospital.

She delivered Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for obsessive-compulsive-disorder, health anxiety and generalised anxiety disorder in Southwark/Lewisham Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Team (IAPT).
