Dr Ishrat Husain is a Consultant Psychiatrist at Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust and director of Eos Clinic. He established Eos Clinic in 2016 in order to offer high quality psychiatric care for patients in the independent sector.
His clinical and research interests are in the field of mood and anxiety disorders and he has a passion for investigating emerging treatments for these conditions. Added to this, Dr Husain has also established academic links with centres in the UK, Canada, Africa and South Asia.
Owing to his extensive academic and medical expertise, Dr Husain has been awarded research grants from organisations including the Stanley Medical Research Institute (SMRI) in the USA.
Dr Husain has a particular and keen interest in Global Mental Health and is involved in capacity building and training of mental health practitioners in low and middle-income countries. Beyond his stricter academic pursuits, Dr Husain holds a visiting academic post at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London, Europe’s largest centre for research and postgraduate education in psychiatry, psychology, basic and clinical neuroscience and a centre for academic excellence.
