Dr James Fairley is an ENT Consultant who graduated from the University of London in 1978, with a BSc in Pharmacology. Fairley then carried out drug development research in Sandoz, Basel, Switzerland and a Core Clinical Clerkship at Harvard University. Fairley then qualified as a doctor from St Thomas’ in 1981, where he won the Hadden Prize in Microbiology.
After his postgraduate medical and surgical training at St Thomas’, University College and the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital in London, Fairley gained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Otolaryngology) in 1988.
He has been a substantive Consultant ENT Surgeon to East Kent Hospital since 1993.
