Dr Leticia Casanova graduated from the University of Oviedo (Medical School Cantabria) in Spain in 2006. She worked in private practice before moving to New York in 2007 where she underwent her two-year specialist training in periodontology at New York University College of Dentistry. In 2012 Dr Casanova obtained her PhD degree from the University of Oviedo. Her research was focused on the links between periodontal disease and systematic diseases such as diabetes. Dr Casanova lives in the UK since 2009 and works as a Specialist Periodontist at London Periodontics and Implant Dentistry where she offers periodontal treatment and microsurgical soft tissue management services, and at Diabetes Dental Care where she is a Clinical Director and treats diabetic patients with oral complications.
Dr Leticia Casanova is a member of numerous Dentist and Periodontology societies and is actively involved in teaching and research. Dr Casanova is a Specialist Clinical Teacher at KCL Guy’s Hospital. She is the author of numerous publications in peer-reviewed dental journals and she regularly presents her work at dental meetings.
Dr Casanova is the founder of a charitable foundation Gold for Kids which raises money from dental scrap metal and donate it to local and established children´s charities.
