Before starting my sessions with Dr Beadman I was a shadow of my former self - I felt very lonely, low and anxious all of the time. However, I now feel so much better in myself and look forward to life ahead - I feel better than before I had my heart problem and it is all down to Dr Beadman's patience and psychological techniques. I cannot thank him enough and would recommend the program to others in a similar position. Thank you!

Dr Beadman was excellent, a great listener and made me feel very comfortable. He taught me some great techniques which I am applying in my life to great effect!

The key for me was to be helped to understand the panic disorder/anxiety and why it happens and that my thoughts 'are only thoughts'. And to help learn the difference between genuine cardiac symptoms and those of panic/anxiety which are very debilitating, then how to deal with the condition long term. Matt was very understanding and it made a difference that he knew about cardiac conditions rather than the psychologist through my GP who didn't. I can now look forward rather than backwards as I was doing before.

I found the programme to be invaluable and has enabled me to transition from an extremely anxious state to one of near former normality. I very much appreciate Matt Beadman's approach, one of using theoretical models and metaphor to define and understand the issue and then using strategies to confront anxiety and build confidence.

Seeing a psychologist has had a hugely positive impact on my recovery. It's been really helpful to talk to someone about the things - especially anxiety - I've experienced since my accident. Matt has been incredibly calm, friendly and helpful. My family and friends have also seen positive differences. I tried to get help elsewhere but it wasn't available. I would have struggled a lot without these sessions.

It was helpful to talk about my experiences and break the emotions down into different parts so they become less overwhelming. It helps to make sense of them too. I really think psychology sessions are important for people recovering from physical illness.

I didn't think I'd be able to get back to work after my illness, but Matt helped me and I'm back there now

I don't normally talk to people about my problems and was surprised how easily I spoke and how much I told Dr Beadman. These sessions exceeded my expectations immensely and I would throughly recommend them to others. They have helped me a lot more than I thought they would.

From first contact I have found Matt to be professional, approachable and friendly. My time spent with him has been invaluable in understanding what was happening to me and how I can use the tools Matt taught me to make positive changes in my life and thus my situation much more manageable. I would not think twice about recommending Matt's services to anyone else going through the sort of things I was and can't thank him enough for helping me.

Working with Matthew has had a positive impact on my life, both personal and professional. I experienced Matthew’s approach as compassionate, practical and – perhaps most importantly – goal oriented. Once the goal is set, Matthew is skilful in introducing tools to achieve it and sticks to an agreed time line in delivering it. I’ve also come to value his honesty: He is not afraid to say that he doesn’t know everything (but secretly knows a lot!) or to say: ‘We’re done!’ I’d have no hesitation in recommending Process Psychology to anyone ready to make a positive change in their lives. Go on!

The treatment I received from Matt has been transformative to my way thinking. None of the gains that I have made would have been possible if Matt was not so easy to talk to and if he did not inspire such trust and confidence.

Matthew is extremely good at what he does. When I first met him I was feeling pretty desperate and vulnerable. Almost from the word go, he made me feel safe and cared for. He listened intently and seemed able to completely understand the things I was telling him about how I was feeling even when I didn’t fully understand them myself. He helped me see things in a different way. He helped me to stop battling with some of the emotions and thoughts I was trying to push away and instead to accept that they were there which made it so much easier to deal with them. I also learned techniques and strategies which enabled me to take more care of myself and gave me the resilience and strength to deal with the very considerable pressures which I face on a day to day basis in my work. As well as being very competent at what he does, Matthew is such a nice man. He is warm and clever and gentle. I never felt judged. I always felt supported. I can’t recommend him highly enough.

Prior to beginning CBT with Matt, I had 6 sessions of counselling under my firm’s employee assistance scheme which purported to follow a CBT model. These were extremely unhelpful and so, when I was referred to Matt, though I was willing to undergo the treatment that had been recommended, I was somewhat sceptical about its likely effectiveness. The CBT with Matt could not have been more different to my previous experience. Matt has helped me to understand the triggers for my depression and the connection between emotions, thoughts and behaviour so as to give me the tools to challenge the negative thoughts. We also worked on identifying my core values and this has led to me understanding myself and what is really important to me in a way that I never have before.
