I was referred to Cognacity by my GP and the St Luke's Health Care for the Clergy on an urgent basis in August because of work-related stress relating to a grievance complaint, and Dr Bell kindly offered to see me immediately, but I was away on holiday at those dates. Because I needed to see someone in the week prior to being interviewed for that investigation (when Dr Bell was himself on holiday), he passed me on at very short notice to Dr Matthew Sawa, who has continued to assess my situation and mental state at regular intervals and to supervise the psychological counselling treatment from his colleague to whom he referred me. I have found him immensely helpful - and literally a life-saver. He listens carefully, but asks important probing questions to form his diagnosis, which he has checked with colleagues like Dr Bell, but also working closely with my GP and cardiologist to ensure that my different medications do not clash. Because of the severe strain of the investigation which affected my physical health (severe eczema and physical tremors and hand shaking) as well as my mental state, he has been particularly solicitous about my suicide risk, providing me with daily assistance from a Crisis support team when needed, but also willing to undertake a last minute assessment one evening in order to ascertain - and certify - that I was safe and fit to fly to an important conference in the USA, without which I would have been prevented from benefiting from a very helpful experience. He even rang me up one morning at home after I returned because he was anxious about me and wanted to check that I was still alive and safe, and that things had gone well. I am very sorry that he has now formally discharged me after several months' treatment because my current funding had run out - and I am hopeful that we can continue in the new year, once I secure new funding. I really owe him an enormous debt of gratitude - and I would be anxious if I cannot continue under his care at least for the next few months. Thank you very much.

I met with Dr Matthew Sawa over my anxiety and depression; had felt like I'd been struggling for as long as I remember. He was very warm, welcoming, polite, understanding and approachable which made the entire thing much, much easier. He made sure the appointment would be somewhere more suitable for me travel-wise and the communication prior to and after every visit were perfect. His advice helped me more than I could have imagined; with some values that I try to live by every day as much as possible. My anxiety and depression have improved dramatically - to the point where I am surprising even myself with a more positive mindset and attitude towards many things in daily life. My parents have also taken on some of his advice and that has improved things between me and my family members too. I would especially thank Dr Matthew for his effort and interest - he's clearly very interested in what he does and he made an effort in every way possible to make things work. There were never any moments where I was left waiting/wondering what to do next, or what was next up, and whenever an action was with him it was done promptly if not next-day. I honestly could not fault a single thing in dealing with him and the experience has changed my life for better forever. Amazing person and would recommend to anyone.

DR. Sawa was very emphatetic with my case. He understood my fear of medicine and suggested some natural remedies which really benefitted me. Many thanks

I came to Dr. Sawa for depression and anxiety issues. I was very anxious, on the verge of a panic attack on our first meeting. Dr Sawa knew how to calm me down though and how to make me feel comfortable so we could discuss my problems. He took his time with me and even went over the scheduled timeframe a couple of times. Quickly gained insight into my condition and surprised me with how fast he understood some of the thoughts I'm experiencing without me telling him yet. He has a holistic approach and will carefully and empathetically listen to you and offer the best treatment plan for you. He gave me very good advice on how to handle my condition and life in general, advice which came in handy quite soon after. I would certainly recommend him anytime and will continue to see him myself whenever needed.

My experience with Dr Sawa has been absolutely brilliant. I started my medication about two weeks ago, addressing numerous issues, and in the span of the intial two weeks, I have experienced a significant improvement in my mood, lifestyle and diet. My diet plan has helped me stay in shape and feel more confident. My life has changed for the better and I hope hoping to continue this treatment with Dr Sawa to continue this improvement. I honestly feel blessed to have come across a doctor which doesn't just rely on medication, but also a diet plan.

Very helpful. No problem arranging an appointment. Always on time.
