Dr Naomi Potter  has worked in the NHS for 16 years. She
gained experience in several large London teaching hospitals including St Mary’s
Paddington and the Royal Free. She worked in the fields of Obstetrics and
Gynaecology under Professor Lesley Regan, Accident and Emergency Medicine,
Psychiatry and General Practice and is a Member of the Royal College of General
Practitioners. She worked as a GP for 9 years in South West London and Surrey. During
this time, she became more focused on and passionate about women's health and
in particular menopause care as it became apparent management in primary care was
poor and outdated and access to good specialist care was scarce.

In 2018 she was awarded the British Menopause Society specialist
certificate in menopause care after completing training under the supervision
of Nick Panay (former chair of the British Menopause Society). She has
subsequently established a private menopause clinic dedicated to excellence
in menopause care. Her areas of expertise include menopause and  Hormone
Replacement Therapy using body-identical hormones, Pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS)
early menopause, surgical menopause and primary ovarian insufficiency (POI). Her
years and breadth of experience as a GP plus her specialist training mean that
she is fully equipped to treat menopause alongside other co-morbidities
including mental health issues, diabetes, cardiovascular problems, migraine, patients
with breast cancer or with strong family histories, and metabolic issues.

Dr Potter  has Bachelor of Science and Master of Science
degrees in Psychology from the University of Nottingham. She graduated from the
University of London in 2003 with Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery
degrees and became a fully registered doctor in August 2004. Her interest in
Women's Health stemmed from her medical undergraduate career when she
co-authored and published a textbook on Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She is a
Diplomate of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Faculty of
Sexual and Reproductive Health. She also has a membership of the Royal College
of General Practitioners, General Medical Council, British Medical Association
and British Menopause Society.

Dr Potter is committed to providing an excellent service in a
private, discrete environment. Her clinic is comfortable and located in a small
private wing where all staff are highly trained and sensitive to the
confidential nature of this provision of care.
She prides herself on excellence in listening to and understanding her
patients’ concerns and preferences in a warm compassionate sensitive manner.  Dr Potter is fully understanding of the
holistic nature of menopause care and wishes of patients. She is experienced in
the use of complementary therapies including natural therapies and
psychological intervention.

Alongside
her professional work, she has an interest in running, cycling and travel.
She has run a number of half marathons, completed the Prudential 100-mile bike
ride and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro for charities.  She has a large family of 5 children including
a set of twins. She therefore fully empathises with the challenges women in
their midlife face. Her patients find her empathic, warm, understanding and
compassionate.

 She has written articles
on women's health and general medical issues for a number of national
publications. She was a monthly contributor to Weight Watchers magazine and
Stella Magazine (the Weekly Sunday Telegraph magazine), Now magazine, Daily
Express , Mother and Baby magazine and the Daily Mail.

I went to see Dr Potter after many months (maybe years!) of feeling ‘not myself’. I had quite a few different physical and emotional symptoms. I had been to my regular GP many times but felt pretty ignored and as though I wasn’t taken seriously. The experience with Dr Potter was amazing. She listened to me, took everything on board and was so reassuring. She explained that what I was experiencing was very common with many peri menopausal women and really put my mind at rest. I have now got a treatment plan in place on which i am embarking. I would recommend Dr Potter to anyone and would like to thank her immensely.

Dr potter’s “bed side” manners are warm as well as professional. She got the balance right. She definitely knows her topic well and up to date. She made herself available if there is more questions which is a bonus for a patient. Definitely 5 star.

Menopausal symptoms for me were distressing, debilitating and uncomfortable. I did seek help but it was only on visiting Dr Potter I found effective solutions. Following detailed consultation, blood test and follow up consultation Dr Potter prescribed what has proved to be a ‘lifeline’. Dr Potter is an excellent listener, her methodical but sympathetic approach to individual issues proved to be life changing for me. I only wish I had see her years earlier.

My experience as a patient of Dr Potter’s has consistently been second to none. She actively listens, allows me time to talk through my concerns, is solution focused and takes a holistic approach to my health and well-being. Dr Potter was the ‘right person at the right time’ for me and my health. I first came to see Dr Potter with concerns regarding severe hot flushes. Her expert advice and accurate diagnosis of my presenting needs resulted in me receiving the help that I needed. The prescription of bio-identical HRT has been transformational: I now sleep, have no hot flushes to contend with and have the added bonus of improved hair and skin! Dr Potter also diagnosed that I was suffering from high blood pressure. She has supported me in effectively managing this so that I now no longer have to take medication. Dr Potter has worked in conjunction with me, helping me to improve my lifestyle through her expertise whilst recognising that I am an active and responsible participant. She has truly made a significant impact to the quality of my life. I cannot recommend Dr Potter highly enough!

I have been seeing Dr Potter for three years now. She was the only doctor to identify my symptoms as the menopause. Without her I don't know what would have happened. I have since felt supported and listened to and have started on HRT and feel myself again. I have experienced her as extremely knowledgeable, professional and kind and she has an easy and approachable manner. For me I find it reassuring to have a health professional that can support me through post menopause and have an understanding of what I am experiencing.

This lady knows her stuff! I thought I was going a bit crazy, however, after speaking to Dr Potter it turns out it’s the menopause. I felt reassured when talking to her about all my symptoms and different treatments available. Her bedside manner is second to none. My family have all said I am bearable to live with now! Thank you so much for all the listening and advice Dr Potter.

My appointment with Dr Potter was an extremely positive and useful experience. She was professional, but not snooty in any way. I felt that I was having an open conversation whereby I was able to explain my symptoms with Dr Potter really listening and taking her time to explain the best options for me. I left the appointment feeling empowered and ready to really knock the menopause on the head! I would highly recommend her.
