Dr Nitha Naqvi is a consultant paediatric cardiologist at Royal Brompton Hospital, where she treats private and NHS patients.
Dr Naqvi studied medicine at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Medical School (now part of King’s College London). During this time, she also obtained a first class honours bachelor’s degree, then completed her MBBS degree in 1995 and was awarded honours in obstetrics and gynaecology.
Dr Naqvi trained in adult cardiology, then completed general paediatric training in London and Birmingham. Her training covered general paediatrics, neonatology, paediatric oncology, and paediatric intensive care. She has a master’s from the Institute of Child Health in London. In 2000, she completed her paediatric cardiology training at Guy’s Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital, and Royal Brompton Hospital.
Dr Naqvi has been working as a consultant at Royal Brompton Hospital since 2011. During her career, she has won a number of national prizes, including the British Congenital Cardiac Association prize for research and a Royal Society of Medicine prize for paediatrics.
