Mr Omar Khan is a Consultant General Surgeon in the UK.
Mr Khan studied at the University of Cambridge in 1997 and undertook his clinical training in Nottingham and Southampton (where he completed, a PhD in obesity and cardiovascular disease) before being appointed as a Consultant Surgeon in Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgery at St Georges Hospital, London, where he is also the lead general surgeon for Trauma.
Mr Khan is on the National Bariatric Registry Committee , as well as this he also acts as an expert witness for court case providing specialist opinions on medicolegal cases. He has an active interest in research and is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at St Georges Medical School. He has published over 160 articles and his weight-loss research has been published in the Lancet and was featured in national and international press.
One of Mr Khans main expertise is in minimally-invasive (or keyhole surgery) including “scarless” surgery and he has successfully performed over 1,000 keyhole procedures.
