Dr Paul Dewart is a Senior Consultant Gynaecologist with more than 24 years of Consultant experience, working in both NHS and private practices. He is dedicated and always offers his patients the best care and treatments, and focusses on the needs of the patient. He gives his patients his own personal phone number so that they can contact him directly, regarding their condition or treatments.

He currently working in his private practices at Spire Murrayfield Hospital and Spire Shawfair Park Hospital. He has also established the Spire Edinburgh Aspiring Endometriosis Centre in Edinburgh, Scotland and he is a BSGE registered endometriosis laparoscopic surgeon and continually audits outcomes on the BSGE database for patients who he has treated with recto-vaginal endometriosis.

Within the field of Gynaecology, his specialist interests include managing pelvic pain, hysteroscopic surgery, laparoscopic key-hole surgery to treat endometriosis and ovarian cysts, heavy menstrual periods, vaginal hysterectomy and repair of the pelvic floor, removal of fibroids through myomectomy and treatment of vulval disease. He also works closely with colleagues that specialise in the fields of gynae-oncology, colorectal diseases and urogynaecology.

As well as his clinical work, he is actively involved in endometriosis research. He is a member of a number of organisations including the World Endometriosis Society and the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy. This allows him to attend meetings and become familiar with the recent advances in laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery. Dr Dewart is also working in the NHS part-time at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where he undertakes Endometriosis Clinic as part of the EXPPECT Endometriosis Team, Gynae Skins Vulval Clinics and Emergency Gynaecology. He has endometriosis and pelvic pain, menstrual dysfunction and outpatient hysteroscopy clinics at St John's Hospital Livingston. He also carries out gynaecology sessions at both Chalmers Sexual Health Clinic and at the Roodlands East Lothian Hospital.

Monday evening clinics at Shawfair Park Hospital are multidisciplinary Endometriosis Clinics with 40 minute appointments for patients for investigation and treatment of suspected or confirmed endometriosis as part of the BSGE Aspiring Endometriosis Centre.
