Dr Patil is a Consultant Psychiatrist holding an NHS Consultant post in Kent. Prior to this she practiced as a Consultant Psychiatrist at South West London & St George`s NHS Trust until 2015. She has completed majority of her postgraduate psychiatric training from London.
Dr Patil has a warm and empathetic manner and believes in treating the individual as whole and simultaneously promoting positive mental health.She provides treatment approaches in line with the latest guidelines from the National Institute of Clinical Excellence and is the Consultant Lead overseeing the implementation/identifying gaps in implementation of these guidelines in Specialist services in her NHS Trust.
Her areas of practice include the full range of psychiatric conditions such as Developmental disorders, Anxiety, Phobias, Depressive Disorders, Stress related symptoms including work stress, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, Adjustment Disorder, Seasonal Affective Disorder, Psychotic Disorders, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Affective Disorder, Personality Disorder,Grief/Bereavement, Post natal Depression and medicolegal reports.
Dr Patil is also trained in psychological therapies and uses cognitive behavioral, problem solving and mindfulness informed approaches in her treatment, tailored to the needs of each individual.
As a psychiatrist, Dr Patil has published original research and has presented at national and international conferences. She also has a keen interest in medical education and has been actively involved in teaching/training medical students and postgraduate psychiatric trainees; she is also a peer reviewer for a journal in this field.
