Dr Rakesh Sharma is a consultant cardiologist at Royal Brompton Hospital, and the clinical lead for heart failure at the hospital.
Dr Rakesh Sharma qualified in 1995 with triple honours from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital Medical School (now part of King’s College London). He then underwent postgraduate training at a tertiary centre in London.
He won a British Heart Foundation fellowship to study his PhD in cardiology at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London. For his research, he was awarded the Young Investigator Prize at the American Heart Association.
