Diseases, Medical Tests and TreatmentsI have a particular interest in difficulties that people experience in relation to the thoughts and feelings they have about their self and their identity. I have written about self-acceptance in blogs and academic journals, and am currently working on a book on the subject.

Richard was the course leader when I did my CBT training at UoB. He has an awe inspiring understanding of the theory behind CBT, ACT and REBT and is particularly well known and respected within the field of ACT. He is a gentle, compassionate guy who endeavours to embody all that ACT promotes to lead a meaningful, value filled life whilst making room for obstacles or difficulties that inevitably arise... He strives to use the most recent evidence-based interventions and has his client's emotional development at the heart of all that he does.

Richard really is a remarkable person. Not only a highly skilled clinician but also incredibly gifted at connecting with both clients and other professionals. He is an enigmatic teacher and I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to contribute to Think Psychology.

I was fortunate enough to be trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy by Dr Richard Bennett, at the University of Birmingham. Following completion of my training, Dr Bennett approached me to join the team at Think Psychology, for me this was a great honour to join his team. Dr Bennett is an absolute pleasure to work with. He has a true passion for working with people and his way of working is inspirational- he consistently strives to learn, help others and goes above and beyond to ensure his practice provides exceptional patient care. I cannot recommend Dr Bennett highly enough, what stands out to me is his warmth, compassion, the way he relates to his clients is excellent. Dr Bennett is a competent Psychologist, Supervisor, Expert Witness and Trainer. I recall being inspired by Dr Bennett's teaching during University, I have witnessed through lectures and role plays exceptional therapeutic skills from a range of therapeutic models including ACT, CBT, CT and REBT. I cannot recommend Dr Bennett highly enough, I would certainly recommend him to my family and friends without hesitation.
