Dr Richard Hughes is a Consultant Radiologist currently working for the Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust – Stoke Mandeville and Wycombe Hospitals. He currently works for the private practices Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth, BMI The Chiltern Hospital and BMI The Clementine Hospital. He treats many recreational and elite athletes’ part of his NHS and private practices. His areas of interest are Clinical Radiology and Spinal and musculoskeletal imaging and intervention.
Dr Hughes graduated from Oxford University Medical School in 1995. He completed further training at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London. In 2002 he attained a Fellowship of The Royal College of Radiologists and in 1998 he attained a membership of The Royal College of Physicians.
Alongside his education and clinical experience, Dr Hughes publishes in many peer reviewed journals regarding his research interests, imaging and image-guided interventions for sports, musculoskeletal and rheumatological conditions. His personal interests are sports and travel and in 2012 he received the Davenport research award.
