Obstetrics & Gynaecology
Miss Sanjay Kumari is a consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist working in Royal Free London NHS Trust, based at Barnet/Chase Farm hospital. She graduated medicine in 1992 and completed her speciality training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in various teaching hospitals in London, including University College London Hospital. She has also completed advanced training in hysteroscopic surgery and is an accredited colposcopist by RCOG/BSCCP. Miss Kumari is the lead for colposcopy service at Barnet Hospital.
Sanjay's areas of interest include menstrual disorders, fibroids, PCOS, pelvic pain, endometriosis, miscarriage, menopause, HRT, sexual health, and colposcopy/management of abnormal smears. Her vast experience as a surgeon ensures that she delivers the highest standard of care and excellent outcomes to her patients. She offers a variety of procedures, including open and laparoscopic surgery, hysteroscopic surgery especially hysteroscopic resection of fibroids and removal of polyps. In addition to that, she is trained in outpatient removal of polyps using Truclear without the need for anaesthesia and hospital admission.
Sanjay firmly believes in the importance of using a holistic approach when it comes to the management of women's health conditions and thinks that the one-stop management options are the most suitable for menstrual disorders and endometrial polyps.
Passionate about teaching and training, Sanjay has led the simulation based training for her multidisciplinary staff at Barnet and Chase farm site. Currently, she is actively involved in clinical governance and is the Audit lead for women’s health at Barnet hospital. She is also qualified in ROMPT and is part of the PROMPT team for the teaching and training in her trust.
