Dr. Saqib Mukhtar is a GP and health entrepreneur with considerable experience in both NHS and private settings. He is passionate about improving healthcare in the UK and has set up his own private clinic in London and has also founded several health-tech organisations.
Dr. Mukhtar earned his Medical Degree from the prestigious Bart's and the London School of Medicine and went on to receive specialised training in Acute and Elderly medicine, Accident & Emergency, General Paediatrics, Neonatal care and ENT. Since 2012 he has worked as a Private GP at The head of the Football Association in St George's Park, for BUPA in the City of London as well as the in house GP at headquarters of HSBC and Citi Bank in Canary Wharf, London. As an NHS GP, his experience extends into working busy inner city & rural practices, out of hour emergency care and Her Majesty's Prisons.
Dr. Saqib believes in a holistic and patient-centered approach to health and takes care to include his patients' physical, psychological, social and spiritual lives into his treatment plans.
He is the founder of watdoc.com, an online platform revolutionising the locum economy by direct engagement thus helping to reduce the 3 billion + spend by the NHS on the recruitment of temporary agency staff. He is also the co-founder of the Hypatia Project, a part of MediChain which aims to improve the care delivered in hospitals and by doctors, helping them to locate and solve problems in their practices, hospitals and healthcare systems and to aid the development of the next generation of new cures.
