Mr Shahram Kashani is a UK trained Ophthalmologist having graduated from St George’s Hospital Medical School in 1998. He is currently the clinical lead for Ophthalmology at East Sussex NHS Healthcare Trust (ESHT) and the South East Eye Surgeons (SEES) consortium. He has held a substantive consultant position for over 8 years at East Sussex NHS Trust. His specialist interest includes high volume and complex cataract surgery with premium lens implant and management of challenging retinal disorders such as age related macular degeneration, retinal vascular disorders and ocular inflammation.
Mr Kashani has had the privilege of training at various teaching hospitals in London including Kings College Hospital, Western Eye Hospital and several years at the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital. It was at Moorfields Eye Hospital that he was competitively selected for the prestigious advanced sub speciality fellowship in medical retina and Uveitis. His clinical practice also includes management of patients with general ophthalmic pathology such as cataracts, dry eyes, blepharitis and glaucoma.
He is keen on research with over 40 publications and numerous presentations at national and international level. He attends meetings regularly to keep up to date with latest technological advances in ophthalmology. He also holds a Master’s degree in Management and Leadership in Healthcare.
