Dr Shaumik Adhya is a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist with specialist expertise in the diagnosis and management of heart rhythm disturbances.
Dr Adhya graduated with a distinction in 1999 after studying medicine at Guy’s and St Thomas’s. He then went on to complete his early postgraduate training at the Royal Brompton, Hammersmith and St Mary’s Hospitals before a period in Sydney, Australia. In 2005 Dr Adhya then went on to undertake Cardiology Higher Specialist training and in 2008 commenced his doctoral research at King’s College London. In 2013 he was appointed as Consultant Cardiologist to Medway NHS Foundation Trust and is Honorary Consultant at Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospitals.
At present Dr Adhya is a Principal Investigator for multiple research studies and continues to publish research in peer reviewed medical journals.
