Dr Sherif Raouf is a cancer specialist (Consultant Clinical Oncologist) at Queens Hospital. After having graduated in 1986, he completed his oncology training at Charing Cross, Mount Vernon and University College London Hospitals. Following that, he took up his current role at Queens Hospital, where since 2005 he has been the lead clinician in colorectal cancers and a key part of the GI team involved in managing upto 350 cancer patients a year.

Dr Raouf is also very experienced in the use of targeted therapies in the treatment of cancers and has pushed for the use of cutting edge technology. One such state of the art radiotherapy machine is called RapidArcm which is potentially revolutionary as it more accurately targets the tumour, reducing the damage to surrounding tissues. Such targeted therapy has been shown to reduce side effects and improve prognoses.

On the research side, Dr Raouf is interested in cancer epidemiology and chemo-radiotherapy in cancer management. Furthermore, he is known globally for his role as a guest lecturer at many conferences worldwide. Consequently, he is currently a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists, a member of the European Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, and The American Society of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Raouf is hence clearly a figure at the top of his field, who is respected by all his peers.
