Dr Sherif Raouf is a consultant clinical oncologist at St Bartholomew's Hospital.
He gained his medical qualification in 1986 and undertook his oncology training at Charing Cross, Mount Vernon, and University College London Hospitals. He then joined Queens Hospital, where he has been the lead clinician in colorectal cancers and a key member of the GI team since 2005, managing up to 350 cancer patients each year.
He has expertise in the use of targeted medicines in cancer treatment and has advocated for the implementation of cutting-edge technology such as the RapidArc (VMAT) radiotherapy machine that accurately targets the tumour while reducing damage to surrounding tissues.
Within research, Dr Raouf's interests include cancer epidemiology and chemo-radiotherapy. He is also well-known for his appearances as a guest lecturer at numerous conferences throughout the world. He is a leader in his field and is a member of the European Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, the American Society of Radiation Oncology, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
