Dr Srilakshmi (Sri) Sharma is a Consultant Ophthalmologist, specialising in Medical Ophthalmology, based at the Oxford University Hospital NHS Trust and The Manor Hospital in Oxford. Private Clinic Hours are usually 0830-1pm on Thursdays at The Manor

Hospital, Nuffield Health. Additional evening times are available upon request.

Dr Sharma has a special interest in retinal conditions, uveitis (eye inflammation/infection), optic nerve problems and other neuro-ophthalmology conditions. She also provides specialist care in retinal conditions of the eye including diabetes, age-related macular degeneration, eye inflammatory conditions and retinopathy. Dr Sharma graduated from the University of Bristol. She went on to train in Medical Ophthalmology at Bristol Eye Hospital. Further to this, Dr Sharma completed fellowships in Uveitis and Neuro-ophthalmology at the Casey Eye Institute and the John Hopkins' Hospital in the USA. Prior to her current post, she worked as a Retinal Consultant at Moorfields Eye Hospital. She has been based in Oxford since 2013. In her current post, Dr Sharma leads the Adult and Children's Ocular Inflammation (Uveitis) Service, the Neuro-ophthalmology service and the national neurofibromatosis 2 and neuromyelitis optical services in Oxford, serving a population of a million people.

Outside her practice, Dr Sharma has published extensively in the field of Uveitis. She is currently leading a national study on toxicity in the retina and leads research in uveitis. Dr Sharma established the Thames Valley Intravitreal Injection Course for macular degeneration and vein occlusions, she is the regional advisor for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, Chair for the UK Uveitis Clinical Study Group and a member of the National Paediatric Uveitis Group.
