Dr. Nijjer is an award winning Cardiologist who has an international reputation in coronary physiology.  He works a Consultant Cardiologist at both the Hammersmith Hospital and Chelsea & Westminster Foundation NHS Trust. He is a Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College London. He undertakes his private practice at 66 Harley Street, BMI Syon Clinic and the BUPA Cromwell Hospital.

Dr Nijjer performs coronary intervention at the catheter suites of both the Hammersmith Hospital and Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust. He is part of the Primary Angioplasty on-call service at the Hammersmith Hospital which provides 24/7 care for patients suffering from a heart attack. He is an internationally recognised expert in invasive coronary physiology, an advanced technique which can help guide Cardiologists on when and where a coronary stent is needed. He has performed ground-breaking research into invasive technologies that have changed the field and lead to better treatment of patients around the world.  He is regularly invited as a speaker and faculty at international conferences including the American College of Cardiology and TCT.

Dr. Nijjer studied medicine at the University of Bristol, where he graduated with Honours in 2004 with two undergraduate scholarships and many academic prizes. He was also awarded a First Class Honours degree with prizes in Pharmacology which was supported by the prestigious Wolfson Award from the Royal College of Physicians.  He undertook his Cardiology training at the Hammersmith Hospital and Royal Brompton Hospital.  In his role as Consultant, Dr Nijjer has strived to deliver the best patient care while working across multiple hospital sites in west London.

Dr. Nijjer is committed to the better treatment of patients through the development and application of new medical technologies.  His PhD, funded by the Medical Research Council and awarded by Imperial College, involved the development of new techniques (iFR and iFR-pullback) to measure blood flow in coronary arteries with blockages. Dr Nijjer pioneered the use of iFR-pullback to better use coronary stents in patients with many blockages and the iFR technology has now been used in thousands of patients around the world. A recent editorial in the New England Journal of Medicine referred to it as 'the new gold standard'.

Dr. Nijjer possesses clinical expertise in all aspects of cardiology, including treating patients with chest pain, angina, breathlessness on exertion, palpitations or collapse. He has expertise in assessing and treating patients at increased risk of heart disease such as patients with high blood pressure, diabetes or raised cholesterol. He uses all of the latest stress testing techniques and if needed, invasive angiography, coronary stenting, and can implant pacemakers or cardiac monitoring devices when it is needed.

Dr. Nijjer's holistic approach to treatment is one of understanding as he recognises and responds to the fact that an individual's medical issues exist alongside other aspects of their lives, treating any medical conditions in a way that fits the lifestyle of his patients. He utilises the latest guideline-supported cardiac test to ensure his patients are fully investigated in addition to his thorough clinical assessment.

I had some recent consultations and a prescribed course of treatment with Dr Nijjer for a recent health issue. I found Dr Nijjer very attentive, knowledgable and very easy to talk too. Each consult was never rushed and Dr Nijjer takes a genuine interest in his patients well being. I was very satisfied with the whole experience and the high standard of treatment and quick diagnosis received from Dr Nijjer made quite a stressful situation a lot easier. Highly recommend.

Dr Nijjer was introduced to me to perform an angiogram and take any preventative measures following a ventricular tachicadia. The procedure was completed within 24 hours of identification, was comprehensive, he fully explained the procedure and being conscious throughout talked me through as he undertook the survey. Would be very happy to recommend to other patients

Besides providing high quality medical care, Dr. Nijjer was quite attentive to my health concerns and symptoms. I therefore felt reassured that nothing was being dismissed or overlooked as far as my heart health was concerned. I am very pleased with quality of care and the follow-ups that I received from Dr. Nijjer.

Couldn't fault Dr Nijjer. Met him on a Friday lunchtime and he put me at ease immediately as I was quite concerned over my shortness of breath. He had me on a stress echo test later that day and installed two stents the following Tuesday. Very impressed with his manner and the efficiency with which he dealt with my situation.

Dr Nijjer was able promptly and correctly diagnose my heart condition which led to both an angiogram and surgery. The angiogram Dr Nijjer performed himself but for the surgery he was able to refer me to the appropriate cardio-thorasic surgeon. Throughout I remained fully informed, fully involved and with full confidence in the care and skill of Dr Nijjer. I would and will recommend him as a splendid Cardiologist.

Dr Nijer conforms to an extremely high standard of medical practice in cardiology He is an expert in his field and ,as a fellow physician, I had confidence in his ability. His human and holistic qualities are as impressive as his clinical skills. I am privileged to have his professional services.

I have been attending Dr. Nijjer for the last two months and have found him very approachable as well as re-assuring and extremely knowledgeable.

Dr Nijjer saw mepromptly, was courteous and deciseive in his advice and attentive at all times

Dr Sukhjinder took time prior to the investigation to explain what might be discovered and the possible implications. During the procedure he kept me informed of what he was seeing and what options were available and what he proposed to do. Post operation he visited me twice, first to check on me and the second time to handover his report. He also made a sketch of my arteries pre and post procedure. I found him to be both professional and reassuring. If I should ever need another operation I would hope that he would be the surgeon.

My husband was under the case of Dr Nijjer recently and we found him to be excellent. Dr Nijjer took the time to meet with us before and after the procedure undertaken. Dr Nijjer took the time to answer all of our questions, and allowed us time to make an informed decision in reference to follow up treatment needed which involved consultation with another specialist Doctor. Dr Nijjer is very personable and has shown us a great duty of care, we would highly recommend him.

I recently visited Doctor Nijjer regarding a development of pains in my chest which my GP had decided was probably Arrhythmia. From the outset Dr Nijjer had a totally professional and thorough approach, which examined my total health history and current/expected levels of work and sport activity. Initial non intrusive tests and treatment plan were immediately prescribed based on my own personal profile and was exactly what I needed. A highly qualified professional with a good manner and in depth approach, all managed in an effective and efficient way.

I'm happy to recommend Dr. Nijjer. I found him to be helpful from the beginning in explaining the procedure and options that were available to me. I felt confident that I had made the right decision when I ultimately had the procedure. He and his staff kept me informed at all times. They had excellent follow up thru out the procedure and a successful out come.
