"Dr Shafi specialises in blood-related cancers, as well as blood disorders like anaemias or those related to bleeding, bruising and blood clots - and also diagnoses blood disorders in the lab".
Having completed his general medical training in the UK, Dr Tariq Shafi started his haematology training in Leeds and then trained at King’s College Hospital, London.
Dr Shafi has also worked in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, at one of the largest teaching and tertiary referral centres in the Middle East. Throughout his training and career, he has gained valuable experience in general haematology, haemato-oncology, bleeding and thrombotic disorders and bone marrow transplantation.
He is actively involved in research, often being the principle investigator in various clinical trials. Alongside this, he both enjoys and has a passion for teaching, appropriately being actively involved in teaching medical students, GP’s and young doctors training for MRCP and MRCPath. Owing this experience, he regularly lectures in national and international meetings.
