Dr Victor Mendis is a consultant in Pain Management and offers private services in Essex. Dr Mendis is the regional advisor to the North Thames Region of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists.

Dr Mendis completed his training in London, Sri Lanka and also the Ukraine where he graduated from Vinnitsa Medical Academy. Since then, Dr Mendis has lectured on a variety of topics and has given press interviews to local and international media as part of awareness campaigns on chronic pain. He has been a consultant in Pain Medicine and Anaesthetics at Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust since March 2005.

Dr Mendis takes great care to provide a full assessment, examination and investigation during his first consultation to establish a clear clinical diagnosis for each patient.

Dr Mendis is a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA) and a Fellow of the College of Anaesthetists and Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland (FCARCSI). He also has an MD in Anaesthesia from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. He became a Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine, Royal College of Anaesthetists (FFPMRCA) in 2008. He is also a member of the British Pain Society, International Neuromodulation Society, London Pain Forum, Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland, and a founder of the Faculty of Specialists for NAPP Pharmaceuticals.

He sits on various International Advisory Boards for Pain Medicine and has been a guest speaker at many international scientific meetings.
