Dr. Gong chose to pursue her childhood passion for Chinese Medicine as a career. She is a highly specialised doctor in this field, with over 30 years of clinic experience. Before starting working London in 2005, she worked in specialist hospital departments including 16 years as a clinical doctor at the Maternal and Childcare Services Centre – a private hospital in Hangzhou, China.
Having started learning Chinese Herbal Medicine at the age of 5, she went on to learning Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine and Tui Na (massage therapy) from highly senior and distinguished medical professors in China. She has gained considerable experience in treating musculoskeletal injuries and providing Chinese cosmetology and weight loss treatments, over the years.
She believes in building and maintaining strong, positive relationships with her patients, to provide them with the best possible care. Her treatment strategies promote a healthy, balanced diet consisting of a variety of food types – which she believes to be lacking in Western lifestyle.
Dr. Gong enjoys teaching – She taught at the Chinese Medical Institute and Register (CMIR), she was involved in teaching the Cosmetic Acupuncture and Chinese Cosmetology specialist Diploma course for doctors and healthcare professionals. She also led the practical acupuncture sessions where she is currently involved in overseeing the students’ training.
Dr. Gong has also written several articles for Chinese medical journals and contributed to China’s radio and TV programmes as an expert in health and medicine. Using her expertise in this field, as a nationally recognised expert in China, Dr. Gong has given speeches at various health events in both the public and private sectors. She has also been interviewed by BBC and the local press, in London.
In her spare time, Dr. Gong enjoys singing, painting, meditating and doing Tai Chi, her interests stemmed from her traditional Chinese background. She is particularly a fan of Peking opera and Qinqiang Chinese opera.
