Miss Anna Maino is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with extensive experience in treating adult and paediatric eye problems inlcuding double vision, squinting, abnormal head postures and reading difficulties. She is the Lead of Strabismus and Paediatric Service and a Consultant Eye Surgeon at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust.
Miss Maino obtained a first class honours degree in Medicine from the University of Bari, Italy. She went on to be selected for a pretigious Glaucoma Research Fellowship at the internationally renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital, before completing specialist training in Manchester. In 2008, she undertook a further Fellowship in Strabismus and Paediatric Ophthalmology at Moorfields Eye Hospital. She started working as a Consultant at Stepping Hill Hospital in 2009 where she was appointed to develop and lead a specialist Strabismus and Paediatric service.
Miss Maino has an active interest in medical education and research and participates in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes as an organiser, lecturer and tutor. She has published over 30 peer-reviewed papers in academic journals and regularly presents papers at national and international conferences.
