She completed her undergraduate studies in 1990. She trained in Ophthalmology at St Thomas' Hospital and Cambridge training programmes and was successfully selected to take up Vitreoretinal Fellowship training at Moorfields Eye Hospital and Western Eye Hospital. She has also completed Medical Retina Fellowship training at Moorfields Eye Hospital.

Rahila is a vastly experienced surgeon and deals with a wide variety of eye conditions, including cataracts, retinal detachment, macular hole, epiretinal membrane, retinal tears, diabetic retinopathy, vitreous haemorrhage, vitreomacular traction and eye trauma. She offers small incision cataract surgery with the option of bespoke toric and multifocal intraocular lens implants to reduce your need for glasses or contact lenses. She also manages complex cataracts, and complications of cataract surgery. Additionally, she deals with acute and urgent presentations within the Western Eye Accident and Emergency Unit and provides screening and treatment for retinopathy of prematurity at the Neonatal Unit at Queen Charlotte and Chelsea Hospital.

Rahila is actively invovled in research, education and training and is currently an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer post with the Faculty of Medicine at Imperial College London.
