It is difficult to convey my thoughts in-clinic - hence the note to say thank you for the year you have cared for me and for the kindness and compassion you have shown. I know that the pseudomeningocele is a problem in itself, but I am fortunate enough to still be able to walk with no further deterioration in my legs which was so important going into the operation. In clinics, although we discuss the complexities following my operation in April, I wanted you to know how grateful I am to you for your wonderful bedside manner and for the many complex operations you have performed on me over the year for enabling me to live the full life I have today and for being an amazing surgeon. I will still never be able to convey in person or in wirting jsut how gratful I am for being fortunate enough to have such an amazing person care for me. It is very easy to complain in life but so very improtant to show gratitufe and express sincere thanks to you.

I requested to transfer into Miss Bojanic’s care because Iit would mean I could have the condition of my spine monitored annually and allow my treatment to be preventative rather than curative under my previous consultant. Following my first annual monitoring it was apparent that I would inevitably need to have more surgery. Miss Bojanic fully appraised me of my options allowing me to make an informed decision, and additionally followed up all the details and risks in writing. Subsequently, my surgery went ahead as scheduled and it went so well that I was discharged from hospital the next day, free of pain relief in less than three weeks and back to work after just four weeks. Along the way Miss Bojanic has taken really good care of me and feel that I am in good hands as my monitoring continues. I would certainly not hesitate to recommend her to anyone with spinal issues and of course would like to thank her for the treatment I’ve received so far.

Thank you very much to Miss Bojanic and her team for looking after and treating my wife so well when she was in the Neuro wards at The John Radcliffe. I know that she was extremely poorly and all the care and treatment she received from Miss Bojanic means that she will be home soon and we are ever so grateful for that. After being transferred out of The John Radcliffe to another facility, my wife is making a good recovery. Most of her memory has now returned and she is receiving physio for a weak right leg which is slowly increasing in strength. Thank you, and your team for everything!

I feel compelled to write and express my deepest thanks and admiration to Stana and her team of specialists who saved my wife's life. The way in which everyone spoke to me and my daughters with a quiet confidence and caring attitude, gave us all reassurance that my wife was in the right place. Your surgeon, radiographer and the ITU were all so professional but caring and understanding of our situation of anxiety and bewilderment, and of course, total lack of knowledge of what had happened to my wife. The staff nurses on the ward and all the support staff again provided a level of care that does your department proud! It is still early days but my wife continues to make a little progress every day. This has been a life changing experience for us all and I feel I must put back something to show our appreciation. We are forever in your debt and and thank all those involved for their professionalism and care.

I am 50years old and I had a disk bulge in my lower spine. I was referred to Miss Stana Bojanic by Nick Birch in Northampton. Stana reviewed the scans of my back and thought it was a reasonable request to have a micro discectomy to remove the issue, as the conservative approach had not worked up to that point (physio, injection was not an option). As well as the benefits of having the operation Stana also went through with me all the possible outcomes of the operation, some less likely than others. This would be my first operation and Stana calm and professional approach reduced greatly any anxiousness that I had. I was operated on 1st August; Stana met with me before the operation to inform me what the intension was and again went through all the possible outcomes could be. After having the operation Stana spoke with me briefly in the recovery room, informing me that she had removed one large piece of disc and some smaller fragments and said the operation went well, not damage occurring to the spinal wall etc. I think I then saw Stana again who checked my drain. I was sent home the next day after some physio. I then had a follow-up consultation with Stana 5 weeks later who then discharged me from here care to my local physio. I can certainly say that before my operation I was in a lot of pain, crawling on the floor for a week or two, the operation took away this pain straight away, of which I have had none since. Even though this was physically a negative situation for me the whole experience I look at positively, Stana always filled me with confidence and reduced greatly any fears that I had along the way. Stana was always available to answer any issues or questions that I had. Thank you Stana for getting rid of my pain and fixing me Thanks.
