Having seen other orthopaedic surgeons and undergone surgey previously on the same issue, seeing Mr Malik felt like the first actual 'Consultant' appointment. For clarity, I wanted to see Mr Malik due to his cited specialities of assisting younger sportspeople back to participation. We discussed options, potential routes, risks and benefits to each before settling upon a choice. Mr Malik was thorough and open in the conversations and I felt listened to throughout. The surgery was a success, and having gone from a place of very little hope in making a good recovery to the knee problems, I have ended up with the potential of returning to a life of activity. This wasn't seen as an option previously, and I can only thank Mr Malik for his time, input and patience in working with me.

I can't praise Mr Malik highly enough. My knee was very badly eroded over the fifty years since a sporting injury. The lower leg was about 20 degrees out of the perpendicular and so the most I was hoping for was a partial correction. My movements had become very limited as I was in constant fear of slipping and any variation in the ground made walking painful. Mr Malik said the procedure would be complex and of higher than average risk. I couldn't believe my eyes on waking up to see the leg completely straight again. This has exceeded my wildest hopes. Also, given that the operation lasted quite a lot longer than usual, I have been amazed at how low-level the pain is, after one week into recovery.

Dr Malik has been very open during my procedures, he has explained everything at every step, he has talked me through all options available to me as we went through the different procedures. He has advised me of any risks and ensured i understood all of these but put my mind at ease while doing it.

I found Mr Malik very easy to talk to and very welcoming at my first consultation with him. He explained procedures very clearly and concisely, was keen to make sure I understood everything that was discussed in every consultation and always followed up with a letter. Mr Malik was very reassuring, always asked how I was progressing with my knee injury and at the end of the treatment he made sure that if there were any problems I should not hesitate to contact him. Overall, a brilliant experience and I would certainly recommend Mr Malik to friends and family. Thank you very much!
