Mr Aashish Mokashi is a Consultant Ophthalmologist, Cataract and Vitreo-Retinal Surgeon with over two decades of experience in the treatment and management of eye conditions including cataracts, emergency eye problems and vitreoretinal diseases. He sees private patients at the Stonegate Eye Hospital, Leicester.
Mr Mokashi gained his Bachelor's degree in medicine at the University of Manchester Medical School, after which he trained at the undertook two years of advanced vitreo-retinal surgery training, which consisted of a vitreo-retinal surgical fellowship at Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre where he gained expertise in treating vitreo-retinal disease and emergency ophthalmology patients, and also training at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham, the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital and the East Midlands Deanery. Dr Mokashi then went on to gain membership with the British and Eire Association of Vitreo-Retinal Surgeons and was appointed Consultant in 2013. Since his Consultant appointment, Dr Mokashi has also become an active member of of the scientific research and teaching community, publishing various papers in various medical journals and also training both national and international surgical fellows at the Leicester Royal Infirmary ophthalmologists on the East Midlands Specialist Training programme. Mr Mokashi also teaches anatomy and physiology at the University of Sheffield.
