Mr Achal Khanna is a Consultant specialising in General and Laparoscopic Surgery working at Blakelands Hospital. He has a particular interest in Upper GI and General Surgery.
Mr Khanna graduated in Medicine from Nottingham University in 2001, before undertaking his medical training in Adelaide, Australia and Leicester, UK. Within Upper GI surgery he focusses on benign diseases and both laparoscopic and general surgery. In General Surgery, he mainly performs Gallbladder Surgery and treatment of hernias. In 2014, he became a Fellow for the Royal College of Surgeons and also undertook a research project in Australia, which focussed on Nitric oxide and endothelial dysfunction.
Apart from his surgical interests he undertakes research into upper GI disorders and has successfully published with work in numerous scientific papers. He has also carried out lectures both nationally and internationally.
