Dr Ajai Samad graduated from Trivandrum Medical College, India, in 1996. He then went on to complete his basic surgical training in South Wales and research fellowship in Birmingham. Dr Samad then chose to further his training by embarking on a career and receiving specialist training in Colorectal and Laparoscopic Surgery.
This then led Dr Samad to broaden his training and experience and he then spent 18 months as a Laparoscopic (key hole) Fellow in Perth, Western Australia . In 2010 He returned to the UK and was appointed as a Consultant Colorectal and Laparoscopic Surgeon in St Helens & Knowsley NHS Trust. After his extensive training and experience he know has one of the highest resection rates for bowel cancer in the North West.
Dr Samad has has performed a large number of successful laparoscopic surgeries , this including Trans-Anal Endoscopic Operations (TEO). After combing his extensive knowledge in laparoscopy and his experience in performing surgeries with a high success rate Dr Samad was appointed The Lead Clinician for colorectal Cancer Services in NHS trust. Alongside side this he shares what he had learned and techniques he has developed by teaching this to others.
