About

Mr Ajai Samad is a Consultant Colorectal and Laparoscopic surgeon at St Helens & Knowsley NHS Trusts. He specialises in lower gastrointestinal (GI) surgery, including colonoscopy, haemorrhoid surgery and laparoscopic procedures.

He first obtained his Medical Degree in 1966 at Trivandrum Medical College in India. He then carried out his surgical training in South Wales and obtained a Fellowship in Birmingham. After this, he decided to specialise in colorectal surgery in a training programme in Liverpool. After completion of his surgical training, he spent 18 months in Perth (Western Australia) as a Laparoscopic Fellow. Subsequently, he achieved his position as a Consultant Colorectal and Laparoscopic surgeon when he arrived in the UK in 2010.
