Mr Akin Oluwole is a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon specialising in varicose veins surgery and Complex Endovascular aneurysm repair, currently working for Nottingham University Teaching Hospitals. His areas of interest include treatment for varicose veins, abdominal aneurysms, carotid surgery for stroke prevention, peripheral vascular disease, botox treatment for sweaty armpits (hyperhidrosis) and swollen and painful leg conditions.
He graduated from the University of Lagos, Nigeria in 1989 and then completed his postgraduate studies in the UK. He undertook his training in vascular surgery and complex endovascular aneurysm repair in Nottingham. He has over 18 years experience in varicose veins surgery and regularly treats more than 30 varicose veins patients each month, he therefore is highly experienced in his field of expertise.
Mr Oluwole also actively teaches within this clinical field. He has taught vascular surgery worldwide; in the UK, Africa, Singapore. At Nottingham University Hospitals he developed and he is the lead surgeon for complex endovascular aneurysm programme. He organizes the yearly Cadaveric Vascular Training workshops for vascular trainees. He has attained a master’s degree in Law with a specialist interest in clinical governance and risk management.
Mr Oluwole is involved in weekly soup kitchen for the homeless in Nottingham through his local church, he is also involved with international charitable organisations regularly providing vascular surgery for deprived areas in Africa.
