Mr Cowey is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at CircleBath, specialised in hand surgery. He graduated from University of Manchester and further developed higher surgical training in orthopaedics and trauma in Oswestry, which is a national and international centre for orthopaedic training.

Mr. Cowey became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Trauma and Orthopaedic in 2007. Subsequently he undertook a highly specialised training fellowship in Hand Surgery in Manchester and Wrightington, working and learning from some of the best hand surgeons in the UK. He is a member of the British Society for Surgery along with the British Orthopaedic Association who awarded him a Diploma in Hand Surgery.

He is also actively involved in teaching and has lectured both nationally and internationally in hand surgery. He joined in 2010 the AO faculty - an internationally recognised authority in trauma surgery.
