About

Mr Alistair Hunter is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Hand Surgeon at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He qualified from Cambridge University and University College London Medical School and completed his core surgical training at St. Thomas' Hospital, London obtaining his MRCS in 2006. He then undertook specialist training in on the North Western and Middlesex/University College Hospital rotations and was awarded FRCS in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery in 2013. Mr Hunter undertook his subspecialist training in hand, wrist and upper limb surgery at the Hand Unit at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and the Upper Limb Unit at Wrightington Hospital, and he also trained at the Institut Kaplan in Barcelona, Spain. in 2015, British Society for Surgery of the Hand awarded him the Postgraduate Diploma in Hand Surgery.

Mr Hunter is an expert in all hand and wrist conditions. He manages common and complex conditions of the hand, wrist and elbow, and complex hand and upper limb injuries. He has wide experience in minimally invasive techniques in hand and wrist surgery.

Mr Hunter is passionate about teaching, training and research. He is involved in the training of Orthopaedic surgical trainees and teaches on a number of national courses. He publishes extensively in his field of expertise and lectures regularly at national and international conferences.
